Program

We are pleased to provide the Program for the 2012 IASSID World Congress.

Please note that p. 13 of the program provides information on using the daily schedules.  You can search the daily schedules in the electronic copy by entering the presenting author's last name in the search field.

Information for poster presenters:

You will note that poster presentations are listed on Tuesday, July 10 and Wednesday, July 11.

Posters are to be set up between 8:00 and 10:00 on the day of presentation and removed after 8:00pm.  Authors are asked to be present at their posters from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Please consider the following when preparing your poster:

  • The available poster space is 2.35 m (7 feet 7 inches) wide and 1.14 m (3 feet 9 inches) high. Poster space is .61 m (2 feet 10 inches) from the floor. Please see image below
  • Two chairs are provided at each poster space; tables are not available
  • Poster space is push-pin and Velcro friendly. Push-pins(tacks) will be provided but Velcro will not be provided.
  • There are two awards for poster presentations: one for posters scheduled for Tuesday, July 10 and one for posters scheduled for Wednesday, July 11. The judges are Dr. Christine Bigby, Dr. Fabrizio Fea and Dr. Mike Kerr. Dr. Bigby is well known for her research on the social inclusion of adults with intellectual disability. The focus of her work is policy issues, program effectiveness and front line practice that supports quality of life outcomes for people with intellectual disability. Dr. Fea is a neurologist and forensic doctor involved in psychiatric research and care; he is the Medical Director of a rehabilitation centre for persons with disabilities working in Rome. He is the Vice President of E.A.S.P.D. (European Association of Service Providers for Disabled) and the current chairperson of the Standing Committee on Employment of EASPD. Dr. Mike Kerr specializes in the epilepsies associated with learning disability and in the assessment and treatment of epilepsy and psychiatric disorder. He has been closely associated with initiatives in improving the public health of people with an intellectual disability including developing the Cardiff Health Check, which is used across the England and Wales. Academically he has published widely on healthcare, epilepsy and intellectual disability and held research grants from many funding bodies.The poster awards are a reimbursement of conference registration fees.
