Invitation to a writing conference
Educating Learners With Down syndrome
Monash University and the Australian Catholic University in conjunction with Down Syndrome Education International will be sponsoring a writing conference. It seems timely given recent research insights and development in the learning of children with Down syndrome to produce an edited collection bringing much of this together. The intended focus of the writing conference is to develop a book to share promising research and practice on the teaching and learning of people with Down syndrome, synthesising this to provide advice for educators.
The purpose of the writing conference is to enable presentations, provide op-portunity for feedback to chapter writers as well as collective and summative discussion. This will encourage a cohesive and integrative approach to the book as a whole.
Key Dates:
15th April: Abstracts submitted for review by the editing team.
Mid May: Notification of acceptance of abstracts and details of conference arrangements
26th August: Draft chapters completed for limited distribution prior to the conference
September 12 – 14: Writing conference (Reception evening 11th)
